I have been following The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints Christmas initiative at mormon.org, called Light the World. For 25 days I can do the things that Jesus did in my home and community. Today is the 7th day; Jesus Fed the Hungry and So Can You.
Here are a few things that I have done to honor today's goals; I donated to a a charity that provides fresh fruits and vegetables to seniors who cannot grocery shop for themselves. We paid fast offerings to help fund programs that reach the needy in our ward.
Here is a list of foods that are nutrient dense but under $1 based on units per serving. Think about these items when donating to local food banks.
